094 Bristol Beaufighter Bristol 156 Beaufighter 11F    YDG  255 Squadron RAF, Night fighter squadron  Formed on 23rd November, 1940 at Kirton-in-Lindsey, Lincs.  Badge: Panthers Face  Motto: “To the break of dawn”.  Squadron disbanded in Malta on 30th April, 1946

020 DH-98 De Havilland Mosquito DH89 DeHavilland Mosquitto  JRS  NF MK XIX   MM 650  Twin seat bomber and night fighter  157 Squadron RAF Swannington Norfolk  Badge: A Rampant Lion  Motto: “Our cannon speak our thoughts”  157 was the 1st fighter squadron to be equipped with Mosquito’s at Castle Camps in January, 1942.
065 F-4U Corsair Navy US Vought F4U-1A Corsair  Of VF-5B  Was flown by LT (JG) Ira C. Kepford, United States Navy  The aircraft displays his 16 victories  Max speed 320 mph  The British had to teach them how to land the Corsair on aircraft carriers.
007 Fairey Swordfish (Torpedo)   Fairy Swordfish II  Royal Navy NF117  2/3 seat torpedo bomber of 811 Squadron “HMS Biter” 1944  A Fairy Swordfish delivered the Torpedo that crippled the German battleship ‘Bismark’.
070 Handley Page Halifax Handley Page HP57 Halifax B111  HD Q   MZ287  466 Squadron Royal Australian Air Force based at Driffield, Yorkshire.  Squadron formed on 18th October, 1942 and based at Driffield until the end of the war.
002 Hawker Hurricane   Hawker Hurricane MK1  PZ865 (other markings identified as 76 G-AMAU)  Took part in films, ‘Angels One Five’, ‘Battle of Britian’.  It was flown during the war by Group Captain Peter Townsend, (friend of Princess Margaret) with No. 56 Squadron, RAF.  A Hurricane with the marking PZ865 is a part of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, at RAF Coningsby, Lincolnshire.  The last one ever made.  Motto ‘Last of the many’ was the last one made total production of 12,995.
022 Hawker Typhoon 1-RAF Camouflage Loaded Hawker Typhoon 1b   ELE  No. 181 Squadron RAF, formed at Duxford 1st September, 1942  Disbanded at Scholswig-Houstein, Germany.  30th September, 1945  Motto “We rush in to destroy”.

023 Short Sunderland Short Sunderland  WHC  Code  Serial No. NJ188  Long range maritime patrol aircraft  Crew of 10  Max speed: 217 mph  Max range: 2900 miles  Ceiling height: 17,000 ft  Power plant, 4 Bristol Pegasus Engines  The first production Sunderland Mk1’s were delivered to No. 230 Squadron in Singapore in June 1938 and in 1939 three more Squadron’s were equipped with this type.  90 were built in total  There were subsequently MKII, MKIII, MKIV and finally MKV variants produced.

001 Supermarine Spitfire MK XVI   SUPERMARINE SPITFIRE MK XVI Winston Churchill G E D  No 349 Squadron RAF ‘Belgian Sqn’  Re formed at Wittering Lincs on 5 June,1943.  Disbanded at Fassberg on 24 October, 1946 by transferring to the Royal Belgian Air Force.  Badge: two morning stars in saltire  Motto: “Strike Hard, Strike Home”.
