057 Albatross DV Red Baron Albatross Red Baron DIII   D2859  Designed originally in 1916 by Thelen, Schubert and Gnadig  The Albatross was flown by all Germany’s front line units.  It reached the front in 1917, part of Jasta 11, known as Red Baron Manfred Von Richthofen’s “Flying Circus”.  Max speed 115 mph

124 Bristol Bulldog Bristol Bulldog  MKIIA Biplane   K2227  Designed by Frank S Barnwell the first MKI flew in May 1927.  Single seater day/night fighter with 2 vickers machine guns.  MKII version entered service with the RAF No. 3 Squadron at Upton in Wiltshire in June 1929.  This aircraft flew with No. 56 Squadron RAF  Badge: A Phoenix  Motto: ‘What if heaven falls’  The squadron was formed at Gosport on 8th June 1916.  Max Speed: 175 mph  Max Range: 350 miles    456 aircraft were built.  This aircraft was based at North Weald from October 1932-May 1936  Captain Albert Ball VC and Captain JB McCudden VC served with this squadron 1917-1918.

030 Fokker DR1 Red Barron Fokker DR1 1917 Red Baron DR1 425/17  Baron Manfred Von Richthofen gained his nickname from the red painted Fokker DR1 triplane, in which he lost his life on 21st April, 1918, shot down by a Sopwith Camel from 209 Squadron RAF.  Richthofen shot down more aircraft than any other pilot during World War 1, 80 in all.  Markings – old style icon cross with white outline of Balkankreuz.
100 Gloster Gamecock Gloster Gamecock 1926-1931  J8406  No. 23 Squadron RAF. Reformed at Hendon 1st July 1928  Last wooden bi-plane fighter designed for the RAF  First flew Feb. 1925, has a short service life because of a high accident rate in spinning and landing.  Badge, Eagle preying on a Falcon  Motto “Always on the attack”.

010 Sopwith Camel Black/White Sopwith Camel F1 1917-1919 R D239 No.28 Squadron RAF Formed at Yatesbury, UK, and disbanded in January, 1920 at Eastleigh after serving in France and Italy. Motto: “Whatsoever you may do, do” A Sopwith Camel was responsible for shooting down the Fokker DR1 “Red Baron” on 21st April, 1918.
